Warped Games has released M.O.A.B. a major co-op update for its free-to-play sci-fi PvE looter shooter Warped Universe. Squads of up to four players can now tackle missions together across every game mode, from real-time third-person combat to space flight and turn-based tactics. This update brings together elements of Helldivers-style squad combat, co-op Everspace-style space flight, and XCOM-style turn-based tactics, all in one free game. The update was a highly requested addition from players, who have been waiting for this feature since Warped Universe entered Early Access in May 2026.
The update includes improved enemy AI, five new enemy types, new weapons and abilities, and updated turn-based combat. Players can form private or public squads, invite friends, and use built-in voice chat. Public lobbies also let solo players join an open squad. Residuum loot is shared, and enemies become tougher as more players join the mission. According to Adam Straney, co-founder of Warped Games, the team was excited to finally experience the game with squad co-op, calling it an "unreal feeling" to battle together.
