Sucker Punch Productions has reportedly laid off more than two dozen staff as it prepares for its next project, according to a new report by Aftermath. The studio released Ghost of Yotei: Complete Edition earlier this month, which included a new narrative expansion called Echoes of Sekigahara. The layoffs are said to have affected 26 staff members, with an email from studio leadership stating that the decision was made after observing market challenges and reviewing team needs for the next project.
The email assured staff that the decision was not made lightly and that the studio is working to support affected colleagues during the transition. The future of the studio will be discussed in more details next week.
