The Board, a supernatural entity in Remedy's Control Resonant, has a distinct and unsettling audio identity that sets it apart from the original Control. According to Lucas Pierrot, audio lead on Control Resonant, The Board's sound is designed to evoke a sense of ritualized anger, drawing inspiration from the Māori Haka war dance and other elements. Pierrot experimented with recording chanting and singing, as well as speech and stories, to create a unique sound for The Board. He also used a specialized microphone to record at a high frequency, allowing for manipulation of the audio. The Board's sound is made up of five distinct member identities, each with its own voice resonance and role in building a sentence or intent. The design is meant to be simple, with a focus on playing with voice resonances and creating a sense of complexity and nuance.

The Board's audio identity is not a direct language, but rather a perceived intelligence that evokes emotions in the player. Pierrot explained that creating a base of a language was necessary to give The Board a sense of structure and perceived intelligence. The Board's sound is meant to be unsettling and scary, but also funny and ridiculous at times, creating a contrast that adds to its impact. Pierrot also mentioned that the rules of The Board's language include the use of a low, soft kick to emphasize certain words, known as 'the pulse.'
