Electronic Arts is reportedly closing BioWare, the studio behind popular franchises like Dragon Age and Mass Effect, according to a recent report by Bloomberg's Jason Schreier. The decision comes after a small team at BioWare had been working on a new Mass Effect game, but EA chose to drop the effort. The studio's Edmonton workspace will also be closed. Chief Studios Officer Cam Weber and Chief Operating Officer David Tinson said the decision was not taken lightly, but the company will continue to invest in other projects. EA will keep investing in Apex Legends and is continuing work on two upcoming launches, Marvel's Iron Man and the next Star Wars Jedi game. The company's Respawn and DICE studios will join forces on an upcoming project, likely a new Star Wars: Battlefront game, according to Bloomberg.
