Larian, the studio behind Baldur's Gate 3, has celebrated the upcoming release of A Court of Splintered Harmony, the sixth book in Sarah J Maas's A Court of Thorns and Roses series, with a post referencing the series on Instagram. The post shows off a few of the saga's most notable characters in Baldur's Gate 3's character creator while ACOTAR-related audio plays over top. The move is seen as a nod to the large female audience of Baldur's Gate 3, which has been compared to the Romantasy genre of women-oriented novels.
Larian's post has been praised for its clever references to the ACOTAR community, including Feyre's watery bowels, Rhysand's invisible fleck of dust, and Elain's gardening abilities. The post is seen as a validation of the author's claim that many of the best games are secretly Romantasy games, including The Witcher 3 and The Blood of Dawnwalker.
