Digital gaming storefront GOG is holding its first ever showcase on November 5, marking its 18th anniversary. The event will feature updates on new games being added to the store, as well as efforts to preserve older games and ensure they are still playable on modern hardware. GOG's unique selling point is that all games on its service are DRM-free, allowing users to play games offline and without any launchers.

GOG regularly re-releases older games that have become inaccessible through legitimate means. The most sought-after game on the GOG wishlist is Black & White from Lionhead Studios, with 138,473 community votes. Many popular requests include the first two Silent Hill games, Fable 2, and The Simpsons: Hit & Run, but some are held back by copyright issues.
