Triple Cerberus Studios has announced the launch of Edicts of the Truthsinger: The Orb of Artemagus, a hand-drawn mystery game that challenges players to investigate a stolen magical artifact. The game is available exclusively on Steam for 19.99 USD, along with a free companion demo that lets players experience the first day of the investigation. The game's setting is inspired by classic tabletop RPG games, and its gameplay simulates the experience of coming up with questions and choosing relevant leads. The investigation is driven by the player's suspicions and intuitions, rather than a set script. Benjamin Craig, the game's programmer and writer, designed the game in response to watching people play mystery games with predetermined question paths. He aimed to create a game with enough depth and complexity to unfold the story in response to the player's probing, and enough breadth to ensure that players would find answers to use in the trial scene at the game's conclusion.
