Epic Games' new One Piece-themed Treasure Hunters season has brought a significant increase in player counts for Fortnite, with the game's main Battle Royale mode averaging four times as many players on Sunday than it had been in the past few months. The numbers continued to rise on Monday, with Fortnite BR on track to have its best month since the original Fortnite OG mini-season in 2023.
The surge in player counts is largely due to the Treasure Hunt, which gives players the chance to win two weeks of free item-shop cosmetics every time they open a treasure chest. The hunt also features a Willy Wonka-style golden ticket that allows a lucky few to claim everything in the item shop for free for two weeks.
