Dubai-based solo developer Rooted Elevation has launched Saraab: Beyond The Veil, a psychological horror visual novel inspired by Arabian folklore, on Windows PC via Steam. The game explores themes of self-worth, sorrow, and emotional healing, drawing on djinn traditions and Gulf-inspired folklore. Players follow Elham, a schoolgirl searching for her kidnapped brother, as she confronts supernatural beings and her own beliefs to forge her own destiny and unlock the powers of her bloodline.
Healing is a central theme in Saraab, with choices influencing the path toward three different endings and connecting the supernatural journey with a more personal question: how much of the past must we continue to carry?
