GTA 6 is mere weeks away from launch, and to celebrate, Xbox is bringing the wildlife of Leonida to players’ living rooms with a one-of-a-kind console.

The Xbox Series X-Bite, as it’s been affectionately dubbed by the company, is a 5-foot-long, alligator-shaped, fully functional Xbox Series X. It’s quite convincing, actually, and it even looks like a piece of genuine taxidermy. Thankfully, that’s not the case; this life-sized fake alligator was created in partnership with John Nolan Studio, which created special effects for Netflix’s The Witcher series, Jurassic World Dominion, and HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter show.

To turn on the console, simply push the Xbox button on the gator’s back; it’s got a controller placed carefully in its jaws, bearing tooth marks as proof of its ravenous appetite. Even the pupils in its eyes are shaped like an X, outlined in green in keeping with Xbox branding.

This strange blend of technology and artwork isn’t an avante-garde installation sitting in the Microsoft corporate offices; starting today, November 3, fans can enter a sweepstakes to win the quirky console for themselves.

The sweepstakes lasts until 11:59pm PT on November 10, 2026. The lucky winner will have 48 hours to claim the console; if they fail to do so, the gator will “make a clean getaway.” Additionally, the sweepstakes is only open to legal residents of the 50 U.S. and D.C. who are 18 years of age or older.

While Xbox didn’t directly mention GTA 6 in its posts about this unique contest, it’s hard not to see why it was made; the game takes place in a fictional version of Florida, which, as most folks will know, is home to all sorts of critters, including alligators. (It’s unclear if players will be able to wrassle gators bare-handed like they do in real-life Florida, but we figure the X-Bite is the next best thing.)

GTA 6 launches on November 19 on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. (Or the X-Bite.) Just this morning, its install size and global release times were revealed, with preload dates also confirmed for November 9 and 10.

Given that the file size is 212 GB, Rockstar has urged players to preload the game on their consoles as soon as they can. “Make sure you've got ample space to begin pre-loading as soon as possible,” Rockstar said on the game’s official website.

Fans are more keen than ever to get their hands on a copy of GTA 6, to the point where oodles of IGN’s readers are actually calling out of work to play it. A separate survey from Unwind Media even shared some concerning statistics that showed a baffling amount of players are so desperate to play the game early that they would even give up their pets if that meant they could experience it a week before launch.
