Altergaze Ltd today announced The Veil Express, a cozy pixel-art city builder and management game set on a hidden magical train that humans cannot see. The game is available to wishlist now and a free demo is available to download on Steam from today. The full game launches on Steam for Windows on Wednesday 2 December 2026, priced at $6.99 (US).

Players take their place as Conductor of the Veil Express, building homes and workshops for goblins, witches, fairies, ghosts, and vampires, and keeping the Five Houses happy. The game features 42 rooms, 14 goods, and one train to fit them all, with a unique twist on the traditional city builder genre. The game can be paused at any time to think, and features a side-scrolling cutaway train with hand-drawn pixel art and a relaxing atmosphere.
