Action roguelike game Tenjutsu, designed by Sébastien Benard of Dead Cells, is set to release on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027, as announced during the Nintendo Direct. The game was already confirmed for PC and features a new gameplay trailer showcasing its fast-paced rhythm. Tenjutsu takes place in the dense and lively streets of Secret Garden City, where the protagonist Ten, a former yakuza, tries to rebuild her life after a stint in prison.
However, the city's crime bosses see her release as a direct threat to their interests and will stop at nothing to eliminate her. Ten must master her martial arts skills by unlocking new weapons and techniques to survive the attacks of the three crime syndicates after her. The game features a true 'one against all' combat system that combines melee, ranged combat, and special abilities against various enemies.
Players can choose their playstyle in fast-paced arenas that change constantly. The city's layout is also random and evolves over time, allowing players to explore and transform it to suit their needs. Players can use Jokers to turn the rules to their advantage, installing vending machines, modifying store contents or prices, or choosing to heal and return to combat immediately.
Defeating enemies and collecting their 'tattooed teeth' rewards players with permanent advantages, including expanding the city, changing game rules, accessing advanced arsenals, and more. The game's story takes place in the protagonist's home and the ramen restaurant below, where players will receive visits from friends and enemies, and uncover mysteries as they progress through their adventures.
Tenjutsu is set to release on Nintendo Switch 2 and PC in 2027.
