Esoteric Games has announced Queenright: A Beekeeping Simulator, a game that simulates beekeeping, coming soon to Steam for PC. The game is built on real bee biology and features a colony model checked against extension references and standard beekeeping texts. The game's developer is a PhD who studies bees and keeps them. Players will engage in various beekeeping activities such as lighting the smoker, lifting frames with living bees, reading the brood, and finding and marking their queen.
The game also features a realistic approach to Varroa mites and their treatment, with colonies that aren't treated by late August heading into winter with damaged bees. The game has a default cozy mode, but players can switch to a more realistic experience with eight realism switches. The game will be available across four seasons, allowing players to experience the changing environment and its effects on the bees.
The game's announcement trailer is out now, giving players a glimpse into the world of Queenright: A Beekeeping Simulator.
