Wuthering Waves, a game developed by Kuro Games, has achieved a new concurrent player count on Steam this year, with its 3.4 update featuring a collaboration with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The game has also topped Steam’s US Top Sellers chart multiple times in 2026, and its latest Version 3.7 update reached No. 1 on Steam’s Global Top Sellers chart on launch day. This is a rare feat for most games, which often experience a decline in player numbers over time. Wuthering Waves’ continued vitality can be attributed to its developer’s high-frequency version update cycle, which has delivered over 60 hours of new storylines, 100 square kilometers of new maps, and 30 new events and gameplay innovations since October 2025.

The game’s collaboration with CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk: Edgerunners has been particularly successful, bringing Lucy and Rebecca from the anime series into WuWa along with two new Cyberpunk-themed areas, Night City and the Moon, as well as the Adam Smasher boss. This collaboration has encouraged many Cyberpunk: Edgerunners fans to jump into WuWa, and has even led to a surge in player numbers for Cyberpunk 2077. Paweł Sasko, associate game director at CD Projekt Red, has praised the response from the community, calling it ‘insane’.
