Bohemia Interactive has released version 1.0 of Silica, a sci-fi game that combines real-time strategy and first-person shooter gameplay in a war for control of the desert planet Baltarus. Developed by Martin Melichárek as part of the Bohemia Incubator program, Silica puts players in command of armies fighting over the planet's resources, with the freedom to lead their forces from above or join the battle themselves. The full release introduces a new story-driven campaign, expanded tactical options, and improvements to multiplayer. Players can take the role of a commander, gathering resources, constructing bases, producing units, and directing armies from a strategic perspective, or experience the fighting firsthand, taking control of soldiers, vehicles, and alien creatures directly on the battlefield. The 1.0 release centers around the Centauri Campaign, a new single-player experience that features a story-driven conflict on Baltarus. The update also brings improvements to army command and unit behavior, as well as new 1v1 matchmaking and expanded sandbox tools. Silica 1.0 is available now on PC via Steam, with those who already owned the Early Access version receiving the full update at no additional cost.
