Nintendo's remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time initially included fast travel warp points, but producer Eiji Aonuma soon realized it was a bad idea. Aonuma asked the team to add the feature, but after trying it out, they found it ruined the moments of discovery in the game. He explained that players were missing out on the experience of stopping and wondering what they had found.
The team decided to remove the fast travel feature, preserving the original game's structure and feeling. Aonuma praised the development team for their care and attention to the original game, saying they were able to craft a rich experience from a 28-year-old game.
