War Robots, the hit tactical PvP shooter, is embracing a retro alien invasion in its new Update 12.5, launching on October 27, 2026. The "Halloween Interlopers" event brings the eerie atmosphere of The War of the Worlds directly to the battlefield, complete with alien tripods, gravity-defying Orbital Support, and an upgrade of a beloved classic trickster robot. The event is presented by the in-universe "Evolife Broadcasting Systems."
The update introduces a new Tripedal Robot called Nekton, inspired by retro Martian invaders, which takes to the skies while deploying an extended Absorber shield. It also includes Mesmer Energy Weaponry, a new Tactical Drone called Object, and a new Mothership called Roswell. Additionally, the Ultimate Loki and Ultimate Gust have been upgraded, and a new pilot roster has been added, featuring The Martian and combat journalist Orson Barret.
The update also includes a new game mode called Ground Zero Tactical Shift, where alien interference destabilizes the central security sector, creating a high-stakes zone where controlling the central point grants powerful active combat buffs.
