Marty O'Donnell, a composer known for his work on the Halo series, has lost his bid for a seat in the US House of Representatives in Nevada's 3rd Congressional district. He ran as a Republican but secured only 38% of the vote, with 86% of votes reported. Democrat Susie Lee has retained her seat.
O'Donnell's loss comes after he was endorsed by President Donald Trump. The gaming community has been following his political ambitions, particularly due to his work on the Halo series. Lee celebrated her win with a video featuring one of O'Donnell's compositions, telling him to 'enjoy his retirement'.
