Toada Brava, a role-playing game currently in development, draws inspiration from Latin American culture and classic Japanese RPGs like Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG. The game features a unique cartoon style, hand-drawn animations, and a rich narrative filled with references to Brazil and its colonial past. The story follows Kako, a friendly little monkey, as he navigates a world of colonization, imperialism, and rebellion. The game's Kickstarter campaign began on September 22 and will end on November 6. You can support the campaign here.
Toada Brava's world is populated by humorous characters such as Junk Rats, Krazy Kats, and Beleguins, police dogs. The game's musical theme allows players to cast magic using musical instruments, incorporating time mechanics into battles to land extra hits or block attacks. The game was created by artist and animator Mateus Grazina and is being developed in partnership with Asteristic Game Studio, responsible for producing games such as Vengeful Guardian Moonrider and the Dreaming Sarah series.
