Nitrome has announced Bad Ice-Cream Resort, a standalone sequel to the arcade puzzle series, for Switch and PC via Steam. A release date was not announced, but a Kickstarter campaign is coming soon. The game will feature a new storyline, improved graphics, and local and online multiplayer modes. Players will control a team of rogue ice cream characters as they take on the Gelato Family crime syndicate in a battle for control of the island of Sunshine Cove.
The game promises frantic one-to-four-player battle mode, a branching overworld map, and colossal boss battles. Nitrome is known for its browser-based games, including the original Bad Ice-Cream trilogy, which was played over 100 million times. The new game is a love letter to those classic arcade experiences, with a modern twist.
The game will be fully localized for a global launch, with full controller support and comprehensive multi-language support.
