High above the clouds, the gods of Olympus watch in silence , for once, even they are powerless against what is coming. The fate of the world now rests in mortal hands. Your hands. But do you have what it takes to face a goddess? The THQ Nordic and Grimlore Games teams are thrilled to announce that Titan Quest II launches on XBOX Series X|S on January 19, 2027. And starting today, you can pre-order the game on XBOX.
Titan Quest II is the successor to the beloved original Titan Quest: an action RPG set in a reimagined ancient Greece, where you set out to stop Nemesis, the Goddess of Retribution, from corrupting the Threads of Fate. Since the game entered Early Access on PC in August 2025, we’ve worked hand in hand with our community. We read the feedback, ran the numbers, and added new regions, new Masteries, new enemies and bosses, crafting, multiplayer, tons of loot, and much more along the way. With the full release, the story reaches its conclusion, and the complete journey comes to XBOX.
So, what makes Titan Quest II stand out in a genre full of great action RPGs? It starts with the heart of the series: the Mastery system. Instead of locking yourself into a fixed class at the start of your adventure, you pick two Masteries and combine them into a hybrid class of your own. Titan Quest II launches with six Masteries , Earth, Storm, Warfare, Rogue, Forge, and Spirit , and each of them can be freely paired with any other. That’s 15 distinct combinations before you’ve even looked at your gear.
Earth commands fire and stone for devastating area damage. Storm calls down lightning and frost to control the battlefield. Warfare is all about raw physical might, while Rogue strikes from the shadows with poison and piercing blades. Forge, inspired by Hephaistos himself, reinforces your weapons and armor in the middle of a fight and deploys blade traps, sentry turrets, and ferociously fighting automatons.
And Spirit lets you summon the dead and draw on your hero’s life force to fuel otherworldly spells. Want to set up blade traps crackling with lightning? Pair Forge with Storm. Rather send the dead ahead while you strike from the shadows? Spirit and Rogue have you covered.
And the customization doesn’t stop at the pairing. Every skill can be shaped with modifiers that do far more than add a few percent of damage , some change how a skill behaves entirely, like turning a sweeping strike into a channeled whirlwind. Attribute points in Might, Agility, Vigor, and Knowledge let you fine-tune your hero even further, and if you ever want to rethink your build from scratch, you can respec at any time (the gods charge a little gold for it, of course).
Did we mention that every hero can use whatever weapons and equipment they prefer? You can wear full plate armor while wielding a frost magic staff, or charge into battle clad in leather while swinging a two-handed axe. And an archer dressed in fine linen works perfectly well with any Mastery. The choice is truly yours.
The second thing that sets Titan Quest II apart is how it plays. Combat is deliberate rather than frantic. Enemies fight in factions and combine their abilities, so reading the battlefield, dodging at the right moment, and smart positioning matter just as much as raw damage. Even your health potions encourage you to stay in the fight: they refill as you deal damage to your enemies. IGN Germany summed up the Early Access version as “the ARPG for everyone who finds Diablo too hectic” , and we’ll happily take that. With Rituals, you also decide for yourself how hard the gods should test you, adjusting the challenge freely to your liking.
Loot matters, too. Items aren’t just bigger numbers; they serve a real purpose for your build, with plenty of equipment options for every class. Socket Charms and Relics into your gear, and use crafting to reroll, add, or upgrade affixes until every piece is exactly what your build needs.
All of this takes place in a beautiful, handcrafted world rooted in Greek myth. Venture across sun-drenched coasts, the Arkadian Plains, the untamed Wild Lands, and even Mount Olympus itself. Discover dark dungeons, uncover hidden groves where legendary monsters lurk, and stumble upon World Quests you can complete simply by finding them. Along the way, you’ll face creatures straight out of legend, from centaurs and gryphons to cyclopes, all set to a soundtrack that blends traditional Greek music with orchestral grandeur. And if you’d rather not take on Nemesis alone, you can explore Greece together with friends in cooperative multiplayer.
