The Root Studios has announced the upcoming Ice Character Pack for Shard Squad, a Brazilian bullet-heaven roguelite game published by Nuntius Games. The paid content will be available on Steam starting November 10, priced at $2.49. The pack includes Chillpup, a new playable Shard from Bagdex, as well as three other original Shards: Wendy, Klaugus V, and Yukina. Each Shard will have evolved versions that can be unlocked as matches progress. The Ice Character Pack is part of Shard Squad's first anniversary celebration. The game's director, Rennan Costa, explained that the collaboration with Bagdex was a natural decision during the game's development, citing a shared project history and friendship with the game's creator. The pack will also introduce a variety of additions, fixes, and improvements to the game, including enhancements to Shards' movement speed and new recipes for the permanent progression system. Players can expect to see new game modes, including Shard Swap and Echoes of the Omen, which will challenge players with shortened versions of the game's stages. The reception to Shard Squad since its console launch has been incredible, with a huge new audience and a large community of achievement hunters. The Root Studios is grateful for the support of its fans and encourages players to add the game to their wishlist and follow the studio and Nuntius Games on social media. The Root Studios is a team of four experienced developers based in Fortaleza, and Shard Squad is their first original game. Nuntius Games is a Brazilian publisher that aims to raise Brazilian games to a new level of visibility and impact in the global market. The Ice Character Pack is a significant addition to Shard Squad, and players can look forward to exploring the game's world and characters with the new Shards and game modes.
