Fulqrum Publishing and edyan.dev are inviting players to experience an early taste of Inquisitor Simulator, a medieval immersive life-sim that puts players in the robes of a newly appointed Inquisitor and head of their own abbey. The upcoming Playtest offers a first look at the game's core mechanics, from investigating suspicious prisoners and brewing magical potions to applying a little torture and sending foul spirits back where they belong. Players will have to establish their authority, take on the duties of an exorcist, and make do with limited resources in their first days on the job. The Playtest introduces the opening chapter of Act 1, giving players their first opportunity to investigate prisoners and identify the symptoms of demonic possession. A selection of diagnostic tools and torture devices will help uncover the truth, or at least something resembling it. The available possession types and symptoms are limited for now, but there are plenty more demons waiting in line for their turn. Players will also get to experiment in a basic alchemy lab, preparing ingredients and brewing magical potions to aid their work. The abbey's dwindling stocks include a few ready-made concoctions, too. Whether they'll help with an exorcism or lead to some unexpected consequences is for players to discover. Once the demons are out, the trouble isn't necessarily over. The Playtest also introduces combat against exorcised demons and gives players their first chance to cast a spell. And when it comes to managing the abbey's unfortunate guests, the Inquisitor can issue basic commands, ordering prisoners to follow, move to specific locations, and even cooperate with certain... scientific procedures. This is only a small sample of what Inquisitor Simulator aims to offer, with many mechanics, tools, possession types, and other features still to come. The Playtest is an opportunity for players to experience the foundations of the game early and help shape its development by sharing their feedback. Inquisitor Simulator blends simulation, management, narrative decision-making, and dark humor into a unique experience where certainty is rare and judgment is everything. Contain what can be contained. Purge the rest.
