Rockstar Games has confirmed the GTA 6 preload and global release times as well as the install size of the game.
Digital preloading on PS5 kicks off at midnight local time in your respective timezone on Tuesday, November 10, Rockstar said. On Xbox Series X and S it’s slightly different , preloading begins on Tuesday, November 10 at 12am GMT (UK time). That's 4pm PT and 7pm ET on November 9. Code-in-box versions for both consoles “should” be available from retailers beginning November 12, Rockstar added.
Rockstar has also now officially confirmed that GTA 6 itself launches globally on November 19, using the local midnight release timing strategy across PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.
As for the install size, Rockstar confirmed that the preload file weighs in at up to 212 GB, “depending on your device.” “So make sure you've got ample space to begin pre-loading as soon as possible,” Rockstar said.
Elsewhere, Rockstar said that on November 19, the day GTA 6 comes out, it will add an official printable GTA 6 cover art poster and map of Leonida as a free digital download to the official site. A double-sided physical version of this poster will also be made available shortly after launch from the Rockstar Store , for $0.99 on its own or as a free gift with any purchase from the Rockstar Store.
We’ve got plenty more on GTA 6 while you wait for its November 19 release date, including an unlikely gameplay reveal in the latest episode of South Park, how GTA 6 named one of its biggest mechanics after a beloved GTA 4 meme, and how GTA 6's map will open up relatively early and let you explore freely.
