Wartales, a medieval open-world tactical RPG, is getting a new expansion called Knights of Fardensa on December 9, 2026, for PC via Steam. The expansion takes place in the Renaissance-inspired realm of Fardensa, where players must navigate political conflict and decide which side to support. The expansion includes a new two-act campaign, new characters, and a new Horseman Mastery Class for all mercenaries, allowing them to develop horses for specific tactical roles.
The expansion will also include a free major update unlocking the Horseman Mastery Class, which allows players to breed horses and combine their traits to develop horses for specific roles. According to Quentin Lapeyre, Game Director at Shiro Games, the update adds a new layer to Wartales' turn-based tactical battles, allowing players to develop any mercenary into a Horseman and add cavalry to their ranks without replacing the characters they've developed. The expansion will be available for $19.99, with a 10% discount for the first two weeks it's on sale.
