Shard Squad, a charming Brazilian bullet heaven developed by The Root Studios, is about to celebrate its first anniversary with a variety of brand-new content arriving first on Steam on November 10. The new content includes the Ice Character Pack, a paid DLC that adds four new playable Shards and introduces the Ice Element to the game.
The new characters joining the roster are Wendy, Klaugus V, Yukina, and Chillpup, the latter coming directly from another Brazilian game, Bagdex, as part of a special collaboration. The new Ice Shards each feature their own unique abilities, playstyles, evolutions, and synergies, opening up new builds, strategies, and ways to tackle the game’s challenges.
The second major addition is a free anniversary update that introduces new ways to enjoy Shard Squad, including the Shard Swap Mode and Echoes of the Omen Mode, which unlocks after completing the game’s campaign. The game is available now on Steam and on various consoles, and a special anniversary sale is on the way!
