Nordisk Games has announced the appointment of Stefanía Halldórsdóttir as Chief Executive Officer and Ásgeir Kröyer as Chief Financial Officer, effective November 2, 2026. Both will continue to lead Avalanche Studios Group alongside their new roles at Nordisk Games from Stockholm. The appointments follow an operational partnership between Avalanche Studios Group and Supermassive Games announced earlier this month.
Allan Mathson Hansen becomes chair of Nordisk Games and returns his focus to his role as CEO of Nordisk Film. Under Halldórsdóttir’s leadership, Avalanche Studios Group has delivered its strongest years in the studio’s history and enters 2027 ahead of plan.
The appointments were made to ensure long-term leadership for Nordisk Games, with Allan Mathson Hansen stating that Stefanía and Ásgeir have built Avalanche Studios Group into a creatively ambitious, operationally excellent and growing studio. Halldórsdóttir expressed her pride in taking on the new role and gratitude to Allan for the foundation he's laid and the trust he's shown. She emphasized the importance of investing in the games and teams behind them, with the goal of supporting lasting game IPs.
Nordisk Games invests in and develops game studios across Europe, wholly owning Avalanche Studios Group and Supermassive Games, and holding investments in studios including Star Stable Entertainment and MercurySteam.
