IndigoWare and Eyasoft are bringing the classic fantasy MMORPG Iris back online as Iris: The World, a free-to-play release for Windows PC on Steam. The Steam store page is live today and players can add the game to their wishlist ahead of launch in Q1 2027. Iris: The World is set on the continent of Anais, where players follow expeditions sent out from the small fortress of Terminus to recover the shattered Ipinidas Rune.

The game is based on a story where the prodigy mage Shuland Acrein broke the Rune, became the Dark Lord and summoned the Sahar through rifts between dimensions. Twenty-two archmages sealed him away, but his dying curse took their magic. Ever since, they have fought with the power of tarot cards instead. The game features three races, six classes, and the power of the tarot, which allows players to unlock powers, enhance their gear, or read other players' fortunes to grant them blessings.

Iris: The World will be free-to-play on Windows PC via Steam in Q1 2027.
