Independent developers mc2games and Mameshiba Games have announced a trivia roguelike game called Are You Smarter Than a Troll?, which will launch on Steam in early 2027. A demo is set to arrive soon. Players will choose a hero and climb the Troll's tower, battling monsters and overcoming challenges to claim the treasure. Combat revolves around trivia questions, where correct answers allow players to attack and incorrect answers let enemies strike back. The game combines classic trivia with roguelike strategy and build customization, allowing players to collect artifacts and combine skills to increase damage, apply poison, or strengthen their defenses. The game features 11 categories of trivia questions, including video games, TV and movies, science, history, music, and more. Players can choose from three heroes, each with unique skills and a different playstyle. The game also includes Ascension challenges with new rules for each hero, and completing all three heroes' challenges unlocks the way to the Troll himself.
