Independent game studio Polycast Labs has released Bobo and the Chest of Nightmares, a dark fantasy 3D collectathon, on PC via Steam. The game combines elements of late-90s platformers with a macabre atmosphere, inviting players to control Bobo, a clumsy court jester. Developed by solo creator David Ho, the game challenges players to reclaim precious EchoMares from corrupted realms, confronting the Dreammaster in the process.
According to Ho, the game is a love letter to 32-bit era 3D platformers, blending classic exploration with a twisted aesthetic. Players can master Bobo's acrobatics, collect items, and face off against bosses in various game modes, including a time trial mode.
