Firefly Studios has delayed the Early Access release of Stronghold 4 from December 7, 2026 to April 20, 2027, to allow for more development time and to include additional features such as the game's economic campaign. The decision was made after receiving feedback from the public demo at Next Fest, which will be addressed before launch. The game will be available for PC via Steam and will include a full story campaign, custom skirmish, a skirmish trail, and free build. Firefly Studios aims to launch with as much polished content as possible, giving themselves time to add more features and work on player feedback before version 1.0. The delay also allows the studio to avoid the busy holiday release schedule for games. Firefly Studios will continue to share updates on Stronghold 4 development in the coming weeks and months, including deep dives into the game's features and mechanics.
