Nintendo has ruled out a Switch 2 price hike, citing sufficient stock to meet demand despite industry-wide memory shortages. The company's latest earnings presentation touched on the issue, with Nintendo stating it has enough inventory to avoid price increases for the time being. This comes after the Switch 2's price rose to $500 in the US, with similar increases worldwide, following a trend of current-generation console price hikes.

PlayStation and Xbox have also seen hardware price increases over the console generation, with even the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S now more expensive than their launch prices. Nintendo's decision to maintain the Switch 2's current price point is a positive sign for consumers, despite a 16% decline in profits and a 37% decline in Switch 2 sales.

The company is, however, celebrating the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, which is already the highest-rated game of the year according to Metacritic. The game's release as a Switch 2 exclusive and remake of a highly-regarded title is likely to help shift consoles during the holiday season. The ongoing memory shortage is expected to continue into 2027, but Nintendo's commitment to maintaining the current price point suggests the company is hoping to weather the storm until supply meets demand once more.
